    Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy

At Crescent Pathways, the safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority. This policy outlines our commitment to safeguarding children in an online educational environment.

    1. Our Commitment

We believe that every child has the right to learn in a safe, secure, and supportive environment. As an online school, we have adapted traditional safeguarding principles to protect children in digital spaces.

    2. Online Safety Measures

    • Secure Classrooms: All live classes are conducted via secure, password-protected links unique to enrolled students.
    • Supervised Interaction: Chat functions and peer-to-peer interactions are monitored by teachers during live sessions.
    • Vetted Staff: All teachers and staff undergo rigorous background checks, including enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks or international equivalents.

    3. Reporting Concerns

If a student, parent, or staff member has a safeguarding concern, they must report it immediately to our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).

    4. Parent Partnership

Safeguarding in an online school requires a strong partnership with parents. We expect parents to:

    • Ensure their child's learning environment is safe and appropriately situated in the home (e.g., in a shared space rather than a private bedroom where possible).
    • Monitor their child's internet usage and implement appropriate parental controls on devices.
    • Communicate promptly with the school regarding any changes in the child's circumstances or well-being.
