This is a brief demo on how to use your parents account. There are elements which I'm not going to explain such as how to submit your child's homework through their child account because that has already been covered in our child's LMS tutorial that you can find on your account and also on your child's account. So this is specific to parents and how to utilize your account most effectively inshallah. So here we're using the account of one of our parents who's give us permission to use his account may Allah reward him and you'll see when you log in here you have the main dashboard and this will show any important communications such as guest speakers or changes to timetables. Now through this account what's first to notice is the announcement section here and this will highlight any announcements that are made by the administration to parents and likewise I can find further information here in the news section so I click news I'll see here any important announcements. Now if I click on full calendar this will show me anything that has been scheduled for me as a parent and this will not show my child's calendar. So a parent might be asking why aren't my child's subjects showing and the reason for this is because you're in your account, you can access your child's calendar through your account as well but this is done through a different method which I'll show you shortly InshaAllah. Now so if you ever lost on the LMS it always helps just to click home to take you back to the page that you're familiar with and any classes that you are enrolled onto as a parent you'll find them here at the bottom. So here we've created a parent resources section which if you click on it you'll find any information that is relevant to that particular class. So here there's a brief warning or brief notification mentioning that you should watch the LMS tutorial with your child okay we've got it we don't need to see that again and here when we click on this tile it will take us to that section and the different resources that have been uploaded so you'll find the LMS tutorial video which you can watch here. You can find the link to the whatsapp group so if you click on this, click on parents whatsapp group and that will automatically direct you to the whatsapp group so you can join the parent whatsapp group. Important information if I click on this this is a survey which requests some important information from you as a parent that will help us safeguard your child by limiting certain features on zoom. Required resources and materials this will show you a page with what you're required to purchase for your child for the school year. Term dates click on here it will show you the term dates for the year and finally how we support your child's learning and development at Crescent Pathways this is a letter which may help if required by any government ministry or organization it just shows our approach to learning here at the school. Tayeb so you'll see here if I go to this section I can easily find the names of the administrators to contact if necessary, Friends any friends that you add which basically consists of other parents or teachers and also your own children. Now when I click on my own children here I can actually click into their name and this is where I can find out what's going on, on my child's account. So I can see what subjects they're enrolled on, I can see what subjects they've completed so this refers to, subject tiles for their previous years at the school. Now so let's say now I want to see what the child has been given, I can see here there's a due assignment in the induction week class so I can click on that and I can actually access the materials that my child can access, via the child account so I can see anything they've been given, any resources they've been allocated, any assignments they've been given this particular assignment they had to recite Surah Al Fatiha so I can see what instructions they've been given for that assignment, here they've been given a quiz so I will be able to see my child's submissions for that quiz what they got right what they got wrong and the grade here on the right and any teacher comments so certain assignments you'll see that the teacher has left a comment for example an area where the child needs to improve or something they need to revisit once again. Now if I click here this will take me straight to the assignments so without the details of each and every lesson every single resource that will take me directly just to the assignments and if I click here it'll show me who teaches that particular subject and that is then an easy way to contact that teacher you can click here click message and that will allow me to then send a message directly to the teacher and add any attachments if necessary whether that's an image or whether that is a file. Another way to access messaging is through this envelope here you click on this envelope and you can just type in the name of the recipient the message that you want to convey and InshaAllah the teacher or administrator will receive that message InshaAllah. Now if I go back home there's a section here called groups, this particular user is not enrolled in any groups however the group section is relevant when you are added to groups and you will be added to groups throughout the year. One that we already have set up is the women's or mothers homeschooling group where mothers they share tips they have regular meetings and also features a section where they can leave questions for the Mashaykh for Ahlil Elm inshaAllah. So that's a basic summary of our system and its functionality from a parent perspective. One thing that's crucial for both your parent account and the child account is that you click on your name at the top right, you click on settings scroll down and make sure please that your time zone is correct. If your time zone is not correct on your account and also on your child's account then lessons and lesson times will not show correctly okay for example if you live in Dubai it's important that the lesson times are reflected correctly on your child's digital calendar so if it's not set to the UAE time here then it will not show as the UAE times it will show as whatever time it's set to so please make sure that your times are set correctly. Now if I go home again and I click on my child's account I can also see what awards they've been given I can see their calendar so this is their detailed calendar with all the subjects that they have. Now sometimes I get contacted by parents saying nothing is showing on the calendar and as you can see here this is the reason why if these sections are not selected then nothing is going to show and this is a helpful tool for example if you just want to quickly see when does my child have mathematics, when does my child have English okay but if you want to see all of the topics, all of the lessons that are scheduled then it's important to select all of the subjects so that the calendar is populated with all of the information InshaAllah. You may have another parent on the account click parents and that will show, which other parents are associated with your child's account and as I've mentioned previously if you would like another parent added onto the account then please do contact me, send me a message and I will get that sorted Insha Allah.
